The UPA device is designed to check the operability and remove the ampere-second characteristics of circuit breakers operating in alternating current circuits, with the registration of current values and the time of operation of circuit breakers. UPA is a mobile equipment.
The principle of operation of the UPA is based on regulating the power in the primary circuit of the power matching transformer and, accordingly, regulating the output current flowing through the circuit breaker under test. Power adjustment can be carried out using an external regulator (RNO or BP) or a built-in thyristor regulator.

Devices UPA-4R, UPA-6R, UPA-10R, UPA-14R are used to test relay protections, circuit breakers and other elements of electrical circuits with a low impedance value.
It is a compactly executed technological scheme of means of checking devices of the specified type. The equipment is also suitable for use as an alternating current source when performing commissioning or research work.
